Location: Primarily in Manchester Travel to other clinics as necessary Reports To: TBD Schedule: 8am to 5pm

Education and Experience

Graduate of an approved accredited program in either Radiologic Technology or Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Associate Degree preferred.

Current ARRT certification in Radiography

ARMRIT Certification

License to practice as a Radiologic Technologist

1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred

Special Skills, knowledge and abilities

Medical terminology

Proficient in using a computer and using EHR Systems

Communication skills strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare staff

Time management and adaptability skills is required

Ability to operate standard office equipment

License or Certification necessary:

ARRT certification in MRI (MR)

ARMRIT

BLS Certification required

Driver’s License

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

Ability to lift 50 lbs

Clinical outpatient environment

Frequent standing, walking, bending, and assisting patients

Exposure to radiation ( with appropriate protective measures).

Required Travel between multiple clinic sites.

Summary

The Imaging Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures including X-Rays, MRI scans, and Mammography in accordance with provider orders, regulatory standards, and Family Health Care Associates policies. This role ensures high-quality imaging, patient safety, and exceptional patient care across clinic locations. The Imaging Technician collaborates with providers and clinical staff to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.

Responsibilities

Performs all technical aspects of ordered MRI procedures. This service provides diagnostic images for interpretation by the Radiologists.

Follows all ACR and FDA guidelines.

Prepare patients for procedures, explain the process, and ensure comfort and safety.

Oversees and ensures patient, operator, and visitor safety throughout the procedure.

Monitor and document patients during procedures and respond appropriately to adverse reactions or emergencies.

Utilizes the pressure injector in a safe and correct manner.

Maintains room and equipment cleanliness per standard of infection control guidelines.

Verify provider’s orders and ensure appropriate imaging protocols are followed.

Operate equipment and ensure proper image quality. Maintain imaging equipment, perform quality control checks, and report malfunctions promptly.

Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards and MRI safety protocols.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR). Ensure to obtain and record all patient data required by the medical center, state, JCAHO or other agencies.

Ensure proper charging of all procedures, coding, and modifiers are correct.

Ensure compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements.

Order supplies pertinent to the performance of MRI procedures.

Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and clinical staff to ensure efficient workflow and patient care.

Comply with all safety and infection control procedures.

Follow the safety steps required to perform their duties and be in compliance with medical, state and federal safety standards.

They must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriately.

Work with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure imaging needs are met and provide any necessary follow-up MRI.

Participate in quality assurance initiatives and regulatory inspections.

Assist with scheduling imaging services and coordinating referrals when necessary.

Provide compassionate care, especially when working with vulnerable or anxious patients.

Travel between FHCA clinic locations as required.

Other roles/duties will be assigned as necessary to assist FHCA in the attainment of the goals set forth and the enhancement of a positive, respectful family practice for all patient and employees.
