Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies
- Assist the dentist during examinations, treatments, and procedures with precision and professionalism
- Take and develop diagnostic radiology images such as X-rays to assist in accurate diagnosis
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) efficiently, ensuring accurate and up-to-date medical documentation
- Monitor patient conditions during procedures, reporting any concerns or abnormalities promptly
- Provide health education tailored to individual patient needs, emphasizing the importance of oral health maintenance
Requirements
- Valid license as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with local regulations
- Proven experience in dental hygiene practice, with additional experience in critical care or acute care settings preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, dental procedures, and diagnostic radiology techniques
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR/EHR management) systems and medical documentation standards
- Ability to handle manual tasks such as blood sampling, blood pressure measurement, and patient condition reporting accurately
- Prior clinic experience, especially within plastic surgery or surgical environments, is a plus
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to dentistry, surgery, and diagnostic imaging is highly desirable
