What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Weekend Daytime Shelter Advocate position at Family Crisis Center, Inc?
The Family Crisis Center, Inc. is looking for a part time weekend daytime Victim Advocates at the Domestic Violence Shelter. Daytime shifts are from 8am - 6pm.
All applicants must complete a paper application which are available at FCC's main office Monday - Thursday between 8am - 5pm unless other arrangements are made. The main office is located at 1400 Hoppe Blvd, Suite 3 in Ada (between petsense and kids choice therapy).
Job Description:
- Effectively answer crisis hot line to provide education, advocacy, and referrals.
- Demonstrate a professional attitude in dealing with clients, staff, and other professionals.
- Complete initial intake and exit procedures.
- Be able to maintain working relationship with client while providing necessary services to help clients reach their goals.
- Facilitate group and individual advocacy services.
- Assist shelter residents with daily living and parenting activities
- Refer to community resources and services necessary for shelter residents and their children
- Ensure accurate documentation including case note documentation.
- Ensure compliance with agency/shelter policies and procedures.
- Complete assigned night or weekend duties.
- Maintain the enforcement of Shelter Guidelines.
- Assist in the orientation of new staff and volunteers.
- Attend and participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings.
- Attend and participate regularly in case consultation with staff
Ideal candidates:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Set and maintain ethically appropriate boundaries
- Self - motivated
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
