Job Summary:
The Crisis Intervention Specialist provides rapid, trauma-informed, community-based crisis intervention and support for clients ages 3–18 , primarily in school settings. The specialist responds to crisis situations in the community, conducts clinically informed crisis assessments, stabilizes clients on site, and collaborates with caregivers and school staff members to ensure safety and appropriate follow-up care.
The ideal candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish (strongly preferred), skilled in diagnostic assessment, clinical writing, and crisis de-escalation, and demonstrates exceptional interpersonal skills rooted in dignity, respect, cultural sensitivity, and empathy.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree in a related behavioral health field preferred.
Licensure/Certifications:
- None required; clinical licensure (LPC, LSW, etc.) preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of clinical, crisis, or behavioral health experience required.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, and families strongly preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish-speaking candidates strongly preferred.

Other Requirements:
- Flexibility to work some evening/weekend hours as required by crisis needs.
- Must be able to travel to partner schools within the service area.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Provide on-site crisis intervention services in the community for individuals ages 3–18 .
- Conduct clinically appropriate crisis assessments and determine needed stabilization steps.
- Utilize trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and conflict-resolution approaches to de-escalate crises.
- Communicate effectively and empathetically with parents/caregivers regarding student needs, safety concerns, and next steps.
- Provide follow-up linkage, case management, and community support as needed to clients and their families
- Document all crisis encounters, safety planning, and follow-up actions clearly and clinically in the EHR.
- Collaborate closely with school staff, administrators, and multi-disciplinary partners to ensure effective crisis response and continuity of care.
- Maintain strong working knowledge of community resources and referral pathways.
- Participate in supervision, team meetings, and required trainings.
- Meet productivity or response expectations as defined by the agency.
- Maintain professional boundaries and uphold ethical standards in all client interactions.
- Participate in agency fundraising or community events as requested.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
