Responsibilities
The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all- inclusive. Other duties may be assigned.
- Delivers comprehensive care, including diagnosis, treatment, health education, and management of chronic diseases.
- Works under the collaboration and supervision of a licensed physician.
- Provides primary and preventive healthcare services to patients in a Rural Health Clinic (RHC) setting following established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Conducts thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations, vital signs, and medical histories to determine health status and needs.
- Prescribe medications and treatment plans in accordance with state regulations and collaborative practice agreements, ensuring safe and effective patient care.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations utilizing EMR/EHR systems and document findings accurately while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Provide patient education on health promotion, disease prevention, medication administration, and lifestyle modifications tailored to individual needs.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals across specialties to coordinate comprehensive care plans.
- Assures compliance with licensing, certification, and accrediting bodies.
- Participates in development and presentation of education programs for staff.
- Works with Center Leadership and other staff to ensure operations are consistent with medical policy and professional standards.
Education
- Mississippi Nurse Practitioner Board Certification (Required)
- Mississippi DEA Registration, or eligibility to obtain upon hire
- Current BLS (Required)
- FMCSA Certified Medical Examiner Certificate (DOT Registration) or willingness to obtain upon hire
Experience
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and familiarity with CPT coding and ICD-10 coding standards.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently within a collaborative framework.
- Strong communication and patient education skills.
Schedule
- Available to fill in as needed Monday - Friday, 8 am-5 pm
- Some Saturdays, 8 am - 2 pm
