What are the responsibilities and job description for the Exercise Therapist / Rehabilitation Specialist position at Family Chiropractic?
About the Position:
We're seeking a rehabilitation professional to join our collaborative chiropractic practice. We're open to candidates with various backgrounds in movement and rehabilitation - whether you're an Exercise Therapist, Physical Therapist, Physical Therapy Assistant, or Certified Occupational Therapist, we'd love to talk with you.
You'll work with adult and adolescent patients, guiding them through corrective exercise programs that complement their chiropractic care.
What You'll Do:
Patient Care:
- Guide patients through prescribed therapeutic exercise programs
- Teach proper movement patterns, form, and techniques
- Progress exercises based on patient ability and treatment goals
- Document sessions and track patient progress
- Work collaboratively with chiropractor and Occupational Therapist on patient care plans
Community Outreach:
- Schedule and coordinate health fairs and community screenings
- Attend community events to represent the practice
- Assist with patient education workshops
Team Collaboration:
- Work alongside chiropractors, OT, and other team members
- Participate in weekly team meetings and training
- Maintain exercise area and equipment
We're Looking For:
One of the following credentials:
- Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or Kinesiology
- Licensed Physical Therapist (PT)
- Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
- Certified Occupational Therapist (OT) or Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA)
Plus:
- Experience working with patients/clients in a clinical or therapeutic setting
- Strong communication skills - able to explain exercises clearly
- Comfortable with community outreach and networking
- Professional, team-oriented, and reliable
- CPR/AED certified (or willing to obtain)
Preferred:
- Experience in outpatient or private practice setting
- Knowledge of corrective exercise or functional movement
- Personal training certification (bonus for Exercise Science candidates)
Schedule:
Part-time: 20-25 hours per week
- Monday, Wednesday, Thursday
- 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
- Occasional evening
