Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify their appointment details, and assist with check-in procedures using electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Manage appointment scheduling through medical office management software, ensuring optimal flow and minimal wait times.
- Verify insurance coverage.
- Maintain accurate medical records by reviewing documentation for completeness and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Answer multi-line phone systems professionally, providing excellent patient service while managing inquiries about appointments, billing, or insurance.
- Assist with intake procedures, patient documentation review, and updating health information management systems such as EMR or EHR platforms.
- Support medical administrative tasks including filing, data entry (10 key typing), and managing patient files to ensure organized records management.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a medical office setting is highly preferred, especially in clinics utilizing EMR systems .
- Strong computer skills.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle phone etiquette professionally across multi-line phone systems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance standards, and health information management practices.
