What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Manager - Therapeutic Group Home position at Family & Children's Aid?
The Girls Group Home is a Level II Therapeutic Group Home, providing long-term stays for up to 6 females ages 14 to 21, who are currently in the custody of CT's Department of Children and Families. Many Clients have experienced past trauma, such as abuse and/or neglect and have high acuity level behavioral needs.
We are currently looking for a full-time residential Manager to join our team!
The Residential Manager is the on-site shift supervisor responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the female adolescent Level II therapeutic Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) group home. This includes supervising Treatment Support Workers and Shift Coordinators, managing crisis situations, establishing and implementing program activities, maintaining the structure for each shift and ensuring that proper ratios are maintained at all times.
Additional responsibilities include: administering medication, facilitating weekly therapeutic groups, providing transportation, teaching pertinent life skills necessary for a successful transition to independent living, modeling healthy interpersonal relationships, setting appropriate boundaries and limits, assist in fulfilling shift duties such as general housework, as well as de-escalating volatile situations and/or clients.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must be available to work40 hours per week; Sunday -Tuesday: 12pm-11pm and Wednesday: 11am-6pm, .
- Bachelors Degree or Associates Degree plus 2 years experience working with adolescent population preferred.
- Experience and desire to work with the adolescent population highly preferred.
- Valid CT Driver's License with clean driving record required.
- Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- Must be punctual, flexible, dependable and reliable.
