We have an excellent opportunity for an experience Medical Biller to join our team. Family & Industrial Medical Center (FIMC) is the area’s leading provider of primary care, walk-in urgent care, and industrial medicine. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Biller to support billing operations for a busy family practice and urgent care setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Submit accurate and timely claims to insurance carriers (commercial, Medicare, and others)
- Review and verify patient billing information for completeness and accuracy
- Post payments, adjustments, and reconcile accounts
- Follow up on unpaid claims, denials, and rejections to ensure timely reimbursement
- Resolve billing discrepancies and appeals as needed
- Communicate professionally with patients regarding billing questions and account balances
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and payer-specific billing regulations
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure proper documentation and coding
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of medical billing experience (family practice and/or urgent care preferred)
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
- Experience working with multiple insurance payers and billing guidelines
- Proficiency in medical billing software and EMR systems
- Familiarity with Athenahealth’s AthenaOne system preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
