Supervised by: Director of Finance
GENERAL DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE: The overall responsibility of the Staff Accountant is to assist the Director of Finance with select aspects of the finances of the Family Abuse Center.

Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Accounting
Experience:
- Experience in the field of non-profit or for-profit accounting and/or finance preferred
- Experience working with QuickBooks
Skills/Abilities:
- Strong oral and written communication skills

- Ability to receive supervision
- Demonstrates effectiveness as a member of a team as well as the ability to work independently
- Work in basic computer programs such as MS Word & Excel.

Licenses/Credentials
- Valid Texas Driver’s License and clear driving record
- Valid Auto Insurance
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ongoing/monthly Duties:
- General bookkeeping functions: processing checks, deposits, general journal entries, entering payments, invoices, etc.
- Performs payroll function.
- Assist with preparing financial and accounting documents, reports and statements in compliance with GAAP principles for funders, audits, board packets, etc.
- Ensure safeguarding of financial records and equipment assets, including maintaining filing systems and documentation.
- Assist with monitoring and projecting cash flow.
- Assist with Human Resource duties, creating QuickBooks employee profiles, employment benefit packages, annual training, etc.
- As needed, act as a back-up receptionist by helping to answer and direct calls, administer the telephone system, greet and announce clients/visitors and process incoming and outgoing mail and faxes
- Other duties as assigned.
Annual Duties:
- Assist in the development of the organization’s annual budget.
- Assist with Audits.
- Assist with analyzing short-term and long-term fiscal goals and project cash requirements.
One-Time Projects:
- Assist with developing, implementing, and testing written financial management policies and operating procedures.
