Families and Communities Rising, Inc. (FCR, Inc.) is a nonprofit organization that has provided early education and resources to families for over 50 years! FCR Head Start/Early Head Start programs are currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated staff to join our team in locations throughout the Durham and Orange Counties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist visitors, answer, and direct phone calls, handle multi-line phone systems, and maintain a welcoming reception area.
- Perform general office duties, including typing, filing, and mail distribution. Assist with scheduling and office-related tasks as needed.
- Act as a primary point of contact for families and staff, ensuring professional and courteous communication in both English and Spanish.
- Log client referrals, collect data, and input information into databases or the program's data management system. Maintain and update files and records.
- Answer questions about program operations, enrollment, and other general inquiries.
- Follow security procedures for visitors.
- Prepare materials, assist at community events, maintain waiting lists, follow up with prospective families.
- Update files for enrolled and waiting families, track attendance data, monitor enrollment benchmarks
- Assist with receiving payments, issuing receipts, and tracking late fees as required.
- Help maintain accurate inventory levels for office, education, and kitchen supplies.
- Provide general administrative support to the Center Manager and program staff as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and [specify second language, e.g., Spanish] preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard office equipment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Prior experience in a front desk, administrative, or customer service role preferred.
