Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Inside Sales / Technical Estimator to join our team in the aggregate and mining sector. This role is ideal for someone with a strong mechanical background who understands crushing equipment and can translate real-world repair work into accurate, profitable estimates.
You will play a critical role in coordinating between customers, the machine shop, and field service crews to ensure jobs are completed efficiently, on time, and to specification.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare estimates for repair work on crushing and aggregate equipment, including labor, machining, and welding
- Manage multiple active jobs while maintaining accuracy, timelines, and profitability
- Coordinate daily with shop machinists and field service technicians
- Communicate job scope, priorities, and technical requirements clearly across teams
- Route parts through machining processes and track progress in the shop
- Ensure all work meets specifications and scheduled deadlines
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, providing:
- Job estimates and lead times
- Status updates and progress reports
- Clear communication of scope and expectations
- Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships
Required Experience & Skills
- Strong knowledge of crushing equipment (cone, gyratory, jaw, and impact crushers)
- Experience with major OEMs such as:
- Metso (Nordberg)
- Sandvik
- Terex (Cedarapids, Terex Finlay)
- Superior Industries
- Astec Industries (KPI-JCI, Kolberg-Pioneer)
- Allis-Chalmers
- Understanding of crusher components, wear parts, and mechanical systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manufacturer prints
- Hands-on machining experience with large equipment:
- Vertical lathes
- Horizontal lathes
- Experience estimating welding repairs (hardfacing, bore repair, shaft rebuilds, etc.)
- Field service or mechanical repair experience in crushing equipment
- Experience with Symons cone crushers and major component rebuilds preferred
- Strong computer skills (Excel, Word)

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
