Job Overview
Falmouth Jewish Congregation is seeking a dedicated and energetic Part-Time Facility Caretaker / Custodian to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness of our facilities. This role is vital in ensuring a welcoming, sanitary environment for members, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to following safety and security protocols while delivering exceptional custodial services. Regular duties consist of event setups and cleanups and minor maintenance and landscaping.
Time Commitment
- Average 5-10 hours a week from fall to spring and 10-20 hours a week from spring to fall
- Friday nights 5pm-9pm
- Flexible on weekends for setup and cleanup when scheduled
- Hours/days may vary based on facility needs and events, mostly evenings and weekends
Requirements
- Prior custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings is preferred.
- Strong manual handling skills with an emphasis on safe lifting practices for heavy or bulky items.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and safety compliance.
- Good communication skills and a customer service-oriented attitude when interacting with members, staff, or visitors.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to safety protocols.
Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
Pay: $23.75 - $28.60 per hour
Expected hours: 5.0 – 20.0 per week
