Overview
The Fallon Tribal Health Center is seeking an experienced and motivated Chief Pharmacist to oversee all pharmacy operations and ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality pharmaceutical care. This leadership position is responsible for pharmacy management, regulatory compliance, medication safety, staff supervision, and collaboration with healthcare providers to support exceptional patient outcomes. The Chief Pharmacist serves as a key member of the clinical leadership team and plays an integral role in advancing pharmacy services within a tribally operated healthcare setting.
Additional Compensation & Incentives
- Healthcare Professional Sign-On Bonus: $10,000
- Retention Bonuses: $5,000 after Years 1, 2, and 5
- Relocation Assistance: Up to $7,500 for eligible relocation expenses
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations and ensure the safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing of medications.
- Manage medication procurement, storage, inventory control, and distribution processes.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable pharmacy laws, regulations, accreditation standards, and licensing requirements.
- Provide clinical consultation and medication management guidance to healthcare providers, nursing staff, and patients.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to promote evidence-based medication use and clinical pharmacy best practices.
- Provide patient counseling and ensure pharmacy staff deliver appropriate medication education.
- Participate as an active member of the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee.
- Assist with oversight of controlled substance management programs and regulatory compliance.
- Supervise pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, including scheduling, performance evaluations, staff development, and team leadership.
- Develop, implement, and maintain pharmacy policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Monitor medication safety, patient satisfaction, and pharmacy performance indicators.
- Manage vendor relationships, purchasing agreements, inventory systems, and pharmaceutical expenditures.
- Support strategic planning and continuous improvement efforts within the Health Center.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Current pharmacist license in any U.S. state or territory.
- Minimum of five (5) years of pharmacy experience.
- Three (3) years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacology, medication therapy management, and pharmaceutical operations.
- Strong leadership, organizational, supervisory, and team-building skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Experience with pharmacy management systems, electronic health records, and healthcare technology platforms.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations and healthcare professionals.
- Commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.
Pay: $63.22 - $75.48 per hour
