Fall River Health Services (FRHS) is seeking a dedicated Infection Preventionist (IP) to lead our Infection Prevention and Control Program and help protect our patients, caregivers, and community.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, implement, and maintain the Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP).

• Conduct infection surveillance, monitor trends, identify potential risks, and coordinate investigations and follow-up.

• Collaborate with the Pharmacy Director to support the Antibiotic Stewardship Program.

• Develop, review, and maintain infection prevention policies and procedures in accordance with applicable CDC, APIC, OSHA, state, and federal guidelines and requirements.

• Provide caregiver education on infection prevention practices, hand hygiene, isolation precautions, and patient safety.

• Monitor compliance with infection prevention standards and recommend improvements as needed.

• Lead infection prevention quality improvement initiatives and support regulatory and accreditation readiness.

• Serve as a resource for infection prevention questions and coordinate with public health, regulatory, and accrediting agencies as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Education and experience in nursing, healthcare, infection prevention, or a related field, as appropriate for the position.

• Knowledge of infection prevention principles, surveillance, and applicable regulatory requirements.

• Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to educate staff, collaborate across departments, and maintain accurate documentation.

• Infection prevention certification, such as CIC, preferred.
