Job Title: Senior Finance ManagerPosition SummaryThe Senior Finance Manager is the accounting and financial oversight leader for the organization, responsible for accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting, cost management, and strategic financial planning across all operations. This role is part of, and works closely within the Executive Team and department leaders to drive efficiency, profitability, and strong internal controls. Reporting directly to the President, the Controller provides insights that shape executive decision-making and long-term strategy.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESFinancial Leadership & ReportingLead all accounting, cost accounting, and financial reporting functions in compliance with US GAAP and company policies.Direct the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.Prepare and present financial performance reports to the President, three partners, and Executive Team monthly.Present financial performance, risks, and opportunities to the President and Executive Team.Maintain and strengthen internal controls to ensure compliance and safeguard assets.Strategic Business PartnershipAct as a financial advisor to the President and Executive Team, ensuring decisions are grounded in data-driven insights.Provide actionable analysis on cost drivers, operational efficiency, and revenue opportunities.Proactively evaluate capital investments, growth opportunities, and new initiatives with thorough financial analysis.Translate financial outcomes into clear, actionable direction for leadership teams.Leadership & Team DevelopmentLead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team, setting clear expectations and building capability.Coach and influence department leaders outside of finance, ensuring operational decisions align with financial discipline and company strategy.Build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and strategic thinking across the organization.Budgeting, Forecasting & AnalysisLead the annual budgeting process and develop rolling forecasts with department leaders.Mentor department leaders in ownership of budgets, KPIs, and results.Monitor budget variances and recommend corrective actions to meet targets.Develop KPI dashboards to track company performance across production, supply chain, sales, and administration.Provide variance analysis and proactive recommendations to stay on track with financial targets.Cost & Inventory ManagementOversee product costing, standard cost updates, and variance analysis.Partner with operations to improve inventory accuracy, reduce waste, and optimize cost structures.Ensure accurate valuation and reporting of inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS).Compliance, Controls & Risk ManagementOversee tax compliance, external audits, and regulatory filings.Strengthen internal financial policies and practices.Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.Ensure all tax filings are accurate and timely.QUALIFICATIONSEducation & CredentialsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred).CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification strongly preferred.Experience10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 2 years in a senior leadership role within manufacturing.Proven track record managing financial operations for a business with $50M–$250M in revenue.Strong expertise in cost accounting and manufacturing finance.International experience, understanding currency exchange. Skills & CompetenciesExpert knowledge of US GAAP and internal control best practices.Exceptional analytical and business acumen.Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to partner across all departments.Proficiency in ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or equivalent) and advanced Excel skills.Performance MetricsStrategic influence on company decisions and outcomes.Timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting.Effectiveness of budget and forecast accuracy.Operational cost reduction and efficiency improvements.Strength of internal controls and audit performance.Finance team engagement and development.
