We have an opening for a Janitor to support a contract with Veterans Affairs in Frederick, MD

Language: Must be able to communicate in English and Spanish to coordinate with the rest of the team
Location: We perform cleaning duties at three different locations. Ideally you should be able to work at any of the 3 locations to cover for any staff on planned vacations or those who call out sick.

Shift: (one shift per week)
Monday - Friday 5pm-9pm (Frederick, MD),
Monday - Friday 9am - 6:30pm (Glenn Burnie & Ft Meade, MD)
Pay: $17.84/hour $5.09/hour for Health & Wellness
Start Date: You will have the opportunity to start on the project as soon as fingerprinting and government background investigation is completed. The anticipated timeline is 2 - 4 weeks.
Background Screening/ Check/ Investigation:
Successful Completion of a Background Screening/ Check/ Investigation will/may be required as a condition of hire.
Duties:
- Perform general janitorial duties to maintain cleanliness and appearance of assigned areas
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners
- Dust and wipe down surfaces, including desks, tables, and windowsills
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors
- Perform floor care tasks such as buffing, waxing, and stripping floors
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when supplies are low
- Follow established safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Report any maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor promptly
Skills:
- Experience in commercial cleaning or custodial work preferred
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of cleanliness
- Basic knowledge of facilities maintenance tasks
- Familiarity with industrial cleaning practices is a plus
Pay: $17.84 per hour
