Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs.
- Accurately document customer descriptions of vehicle issues and translate them into clear, detailed repair orders.
- Provide expert auto estimating by assessing vehicle conditions, including diagnostics related to transmissions, brakes, suspension, tires, oil changes, alignments, shocks & struts, diesel engine repairs, air brakes, auto body repairs, and more.
- Upsell additional services and maintenance based on customer needs while maintaining transparency and integrity.
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of services.
- Explain repair recommendations clearly to customers, including cost estimates and timelines.
- Manage cash handling procedures accurately when processing payments or deposits.
- Maintain organized records of service history, invoices, and customer interactions for seamless follow-up.
- Promote automotive maintenance programs and vehicle care tips to enhance customer loyalty.
- Stay informed about the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques to better serve clients.
- Support the sales team with automobile sales efforts by providing technical insights when needed.
Requirements
- Proven dealership experience or background in auto service management is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and repair procedures including transmissions, oil changes, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, tire services, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, air brakes, and auto body repairs.
- Hands-on mechanic or service technician experience is a plus for understanding complex vehicle issues.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally.
- Proficiency in auto estimating software and sales techniques to upsell services effectively.
- Mechanical knowledge of automotive systems combined with a passion for cars and vehicle maintenance.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining a friendly demeanor.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is often required; familiarity with dealership operations is advantageous.
