Job Summary:
This position will be responsible for collaborating and supporting Creative and Design Management. The artwork produced will reflect the vision and design direction of the creative team. Concepts art will include images that illustrate master planning, media pre-production, special venue, immersive and entertainment experiences as well as attraction designs. You will work closely with the management team to ensure the vision of the client. This position is critical in creating the correct interpretation and ultimate realization of the overall vision. The Concept Artist also supports the production of each detail that makes an award-winning entertainment experience.
This position involves working on multiple projects, at times simultaneously. Occasionally there may be the need to act quickly in order to implement revisions and adjustments to artwork. The position requires being familiar with Adobe Creative Suites software, specifically Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
The ideal candidate must be self-driven, operating effectively with minimal oversight and welcome collaboration and feedback from other team members. You must be emotionally secure enough to accept and respect differing perspectives and opinions regarding the artwork created. Strong communication skills are a must, with a high emphasis on articulating creative ideas and expressing one’s opinions clearly and in a straight-forward manner.
Essential Functions:
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and project charettes.
- Create custom illustrations as required.
- Create plans, elevations, and schematic diagrams as required.
- Execute the production of drawings and presentation packages.
- Maintenance and organization of digital assets.
- Remain cognizant of budget and schedule criteria.
Job Qualifications and Requirements:
- A skillset that includes strong drawing abilities and a significant understanding of composition, design, and color
- Must have a fine arts degree, related field or equivalent visual design degree, or comparable experience.
- Two years of experience working as a concept artist or storyboard artist.
- Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Sketchup, and Blender.
- Knowledge of interior design, architectural master planning, entertainment design, and theme parks is an advantage
- Storyboarding ability or ability to translate ideas to designers and develop innovative design solutions.
- Knowledge of experience design, brand development, and themed entertainment a plus
- You must possess the ability to communicate effectively with internal team, partners, vendors, consultants, and other external sources.
- Use sound reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Use Microsoft Office programs efficiently.
- Must be able to handle adjustments to priorities throughout the day/week.
- Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish the work.
- Comfortable and confident working in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
- You must possess a valid driver’s license.
- You must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America.
