Medicare Billing Coordinator – Home Health
Sarasota, FL | Full-Time | On-Site
$24–$27 per hour
Who We Are
We are an established and growing Medicare-certified Home Health Agency serving patients throughout the Sarasota area. We are looking for an experienced Medicare Billing Coordinator to join our team and support the agency’s billing and revenue cycle operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with Medicare billing experience who understands the importance of accurate claims, consistent follow-up, and timely reimbursement in a home health environment.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare, review, and submit Medicare home health claims
- Ensure claims are accurate and complete before submission
- Follow up on unpaid, rejected, and denied Medicare claims
- Research denials and billing discrepancies and make necessary corrections
- Correct and resubmit claims and track them through payment
- Post payments, adjustments, and remittance information
- Work accounts receivable and aging reports
- Review Medicare remittance advice and identify payment discrepancies
- Follow up on outstanding balances and delayed reimbursements
- Coordinate with clinical and administrative teams to resolve documentation or billing issues
- Maintain accurate records of claims, payments, denials, and follow-up activity
- Assist with month-end billing and A/R reconciliation
- Ensure billing activities comply with Medicare and home health requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Previous medical billing experience required
- Medicare billing experience required
- Home Health billing experience strongly preferred
- Experience with Medicare claims, collections, denials, and accounts receivable
- Experience with insurance verification and/or payment posting preferred
- Understanding of Medicare reimbursement and claims processing
- Experience using healthcare billing software and payer portals
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent follow-up and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage a high volume of claims and outstanding accounts
- Strong organizational and communication skills
