Position Summary:
The Divisional Manager of Operations (DM-Ops) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations within an assigned area or station(s). This role ensures that the company’s emergency medical services are provided safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with applicable regulations. The DM-Ops supports field staff, manages scheduling and logistics, and plays a key role in maintaining service quality and performance standards.

Responsibilities:
The DM-Ops may be assigned to any number of duties related to meeting the market and customer expectations and needs. These duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of ambulance crews and station activities, including staffing, scheduling, fleet coordination, and supply management.
- Act as the EMS Field Commander providing oversight, coordination, and leadership during high-acuity incidents or day-to-day operations across assigned area.
- Ensure services are delivered in accordance with company policies, clinical standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., local EMS protocols, HIPAA, OSHA).
- Supervise EMS staff, and field supervisors, providing guidance, coaching, and performance evaluations.
- Monitor response times, unit availability, and operational KPIs to ensure high service levels and efficiency.
- Collaborate with dispatch, fleet, and logistics teams to ensure appropriate resource deployment.
- Respond to operational issues and incidents, including service disruptions, safety concerns, and personnel matters.
- Support training initiatives and onboarding of new personnel in partnership with the training department.
- Conduct field ride-alongs, station visits, and incident reviews to reinforce safety, customer service, quality care, and protocol adherence.
- Maintain effective communication with healthcare facilities, local partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Assist in budgeting, inventory control, and cost-efficiency measures for assigned operations.
- Participate in planning for special events, disaster preparedness, and operational contingency strategies.
- Assists and/ or completes additional tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Services, Healthcare Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of EMS experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong working knowledge of EMS operations, regulations, and quality assurance practices.
- Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, communication and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, scheduling systems, and EMS reporting software.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and emergency call-ins as needed.
- Must maintain ability to be insured through company’s insurance carriers.
- Current certification as a Texas Paramedic and unrestricted authorization as a full Paramedic by the Medical Director.
- ICS 100, ICS 200, ICS 300, and ICS 400
- Completion of IS-700 a course from EMI or equivalent
- Completion of IS-800 course from EMI or equivalent
