DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT
Faithcare is a faith-based 501c3 that provides healing, hope, and healing to the poor and needy. We mobilize medical professionals who are seeking to serve the needy and connect them with short- or long-term medical opportunities where they can use their unique skills and help those who need it the most—both here and abroad. We also train the next generation of faith-based health care providers. We are seeking a Director of Development who can provide the leadership required to build our solid foundation and brand and take it to a higher activity level.
ABOUT FAITHCARE
FaithCare integrates medical help along with the biblical knowledge people need to be healed completely - physically, emotionally, and spiritually. We use a compassionate, heart-centered approach so we can build the trust necessary to be able to share our faith. We prioritize serving people in medically underserved areas both in the USA and Africa. FaithCare was founded in 1994 by Dr. Peter Schnatz.
THE POSITION
Using a hands-on style, the Director of Development will lead development efforts, external “storytelling,” and relationship-building. An ideal candidate is a highly relational, results-driven leader with a demonstrated commitment to faith-based organizational leadership, fundraising, and humanitarian causes. The position is expected to be full-time.
The Director of Development must have a working knowledge of non-profit management and extensive experience growing and managing development functions. Medical Mission experience is a plus. The position reports to the CEO and collaborates closely with our Board as well as program and funding partners.
MAJOR FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Development & Fundraising – 90% of the time
- Acquire new major donors and cultivate strong relationships with existing funders and donors.
- Execute a multi-dimensional fundraising growth plan that includes significant gifts from individuals, foundations, corporate sponsorships, and healthcare organizations.
- Prepare donor communications reports on lives impacted by our programs using data, stories, and other information to help them feel connected and build confidence in their investments. about our impact.
- Represent FaithCare to the medical and philanthropic communities in the US.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Arranging appointments for meetings with individuals and organizations including churches and obtaining speaking opportunities to further awareness about FaithCare’s work.
- Develop a significant pipeline of grant applications.
- Manage our annual Fundraising event.
- Provide oversight to our fundraising committee.
- Organizational Leadership – 10% of the time
- Support and cultivate a culture that embraces a mission-based mindset, teamwork, transparency, communication, and mentorship.
- Enhance and maintain systems and infrastructure, including finances and operations.
- Help oversee and onboard one Operations Director and many volunteers.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
The Director of Development will be the chief representative of Faithcare to the public. They must have a track record of fiscal growth and:
- Three or more years of development experience with a non-profit organization preferred.
- Mission and values alignment with FaithCare’s statement of faith
- Demonstrated ability to grow revenue for NGO’s.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, external affairs & network building: comfortable and effective at communicating and maintaining relationships with medical volunteers, funders, program partners, and other constituents about strategies, needs, goals, and impact.
- Ability to plan and implement marketing campaigns and fundraising events.
- Experience acquiring foundation grants.
- Desire to work with a faith-based organization.
- Personal Commitment to Follow-through: Self-motivated to build and execute effective plans, timelines, and milestones to reach key objectives, especially with a team.
- BA/BS degree in relevant area of study.
Compensation
The salary range is $65,000 to $105,000 plus performance incentives commensurate with demonstrated experience.
