As Kingdom Kids Early Learning Center (ELC) is a daycare ministering of Faith United Methodist Church, this ideal candidate will represent a shared vision of the church and the ELC. The director will craft a relevant Christian vision within the context of the church mission and vision. The Christian environment will be safe, loving, and nurturing with programs and curriculum reflecting the love of God. A good personal and working relationship with parents will be vital to the growth of the child as well as the growth of the entire family.
Qualification
Three years of day care experience
A college graduate with an Associate’s degree or higher would be required
Supervisory experience with a team of 4 or more adults
General working knowledge of computers and office programs
Possess strong organizational and administrative skills
Have active pursuit in growing in their personal faith in God through involvement in a church
Administrative Responsibilities include but not limited to:
* Ensure operations are running under state and local codes as mandated by fire inspections, state inspections, and IDEM
* Actively recruit additional students
* Communicate with the community via web sites, social media, or other means of communication
* Communicate to the congregation, through digital and/or written media, regular ELC update, special events, and ways parishioners can pray for, visit, and work with the ELC to develop a relationship as an important part of Faith’s ministry
* Evaluate and schedule maintenance needs in the ELC designated areas
* Carry out fire, tornado, and lock-down drills as required by state and local codes
* Keep registrations up to date as it pertains to the Department of Homeland Security and Family Social Services Administration (FSSA)
* Attend and/or lead church staff meetings, KK committee meetings, KKELC staff meeting, and other meetings as needed
* Communicate with the pastor and staff as to needs and concerns that arise in the ELC
Programming
Have age appropriate curriculum in place to support child developing physically, socially, mentally and spiritually and evaluate its effectiveness
Develop and assist in special programs such as special day events, graduation, etc.
Order classroom supplies as needed
Integrate age appropriate chapel experiences at least weekly
Staffing
* Visiting in each classroom at least daily to learn, observe, affirm and support each room and teacher
*Conduct regular staff meetings
*Establish the daily/weekly staffing schedule
Maintain staff records including:
a. hiring and termination
b. complete probationary and annual evaluations and classroom observations
c. handling of personnel situation with confidentiality
d. tracking vacation and sick time
e. required certifications and training (CPR, First Aid, Universal Precautions)
f. conduct background checks and fingerprinting as required by the state of Indiana
* Maintain an adequate staff to meet ratio requirements (including floats) without exceeding needs
* Seek and receive feedback from staff, the KK committee, and lead pastor
* Develop a good working relationship with staff, show regular appreciation, and make each member feel they are part of the team
* Fill in with any duties as needed
Students/Parents:
*Communicate with parents personally or via digital and/or print for the notification of special events and changes to policies at the ELC
*Communicate with parents as needed regarding their student personally or via digital and/or print
*Develop class lists to be updated as needed
*Maintain students’ files to include up-to-date medical records as required by the state
*Develop and maintain a good working relationship with parents
*Support positive student behavior
Financial Duties:
*Develop (in conjunction with needed others) an annual budget
*Manage funds to stay within the budget including managing overtime
*Propose staff salaries, raises, and bonuses for approval by the KK committee
*Turn in all receipts, time cards, bills, etc to the church bookkeeper by the established deadlines
*Enter weekly tuition into the system, send receipts, past due notices, and year end tuition reports to the parents by established deadlines.
*Additional duties as assigned by the pastor, governing council, or KK committee
