Job Overview
Faith United Methodist Church is seeking an organized, welcoming and dependable Church Administrative Assistant to support the pastor, congregation and day-to-day operations of the church office. This role helps the church fulfill its mission and denominational responsibilities by providing administrative, communication and facility-scheduling support.
This is an on-site position at 2950 Droste Road, Saint Charles, Missouri. The Church Administrative Assistant reports directly to the pastor.
Responsibilities
- Answer telephone calls and greet church members, visitors and community guests.
- Monitor and process church voicemail and email.
- Sort and distribute mail and prepare correspondence as directed by the pastor.
- Coordinate and maintain the church calendar.
- Provide general clerical and administrative support.
- Maintain the church database and keep records current.
- Coordinate and schedule individuals, groups and organizations that use the church facility.
- Prepare weekly bulletins, worship presentations and other materials needed for worship.
- Update and maintain the church website.
- Mail bulletins to homebound church members.
- Purchase and monitor office and church supplies according to established guidelines.
- Monitor copier use and maintain copier supplies.
- Create content and manage church communications as directed.
- Maintain files according to records-retention guidelines.
Requirements
- Strong clerical, administrative and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with keyboarding, filing, office technology, copier/scanner equipment and multi-line phone systems.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Publisher, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Google Workspace (Google Suite) and Planning Center.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with church members, staff, visitors and community partners.
- Strong organization, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
Safe Gatherings Certification
The selected candidate must complete Safe Gatherings Certification within two weeks of hire. This online program, offered through the Missouri Conference of The United Methodist Church, includes boundaries training and a background check. Faith United Methodist Church will pay the certification fee and provide three hours of paid time to complete the certification.
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
