Job Title: Elementary Principal - Lower Campus
General Description
Job Summary:
The Principal serves as the spiritual, educational, and administrative leader of their campus, responsible for upholding the school’s mission and fostering a Christ-centered learning environment. This individual will set a clear vision and goals for their campus’s spiritual life, character development, academic programs, and overall growth. They will oversee daily operations, mentor staff, and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and the broader school community, ensuring that all educational goals align with biblical principles.
Reports to: Head of School
Supervises: Students, faculty, staff, and volunteers as assigned by the Head of School
Evaluations: Semi-Annually
Length of Employment: 12-month contract
Type of Employment: Full Time Salaried
This is an exempt employee paid on a salaried basis on an annual contract.
Pay Range:
$55,000 - $60,000

Job Requirements
Education:
- Required: Hold a Bachelor’s degree or greater from an accredited post-secondary institution.
- Required: Hold a current Administrator certificate from a Christian school association and/or State Teaching Certificate in Educational Leadership, or be willing to immediately obtain certification.
Experience:
- Have a minimum of two years of successful classroom teaching.
- Have a minimum of two years of administration experience, preferably in a Christian school.
- Have a minimum of two years of supervisory-level experience.
Skills:
- Demonstrate a moderate level of proficiency in public speaking
- Demonstrate an intermediate level of computer literacy, having proficiency in word processing, creating and using spreadsheets, emailing, and accessing the Internet. Preferably able to troubleshoot minor program issues.
- Possess evidence of other adequate preparation, background, or experience as determined by the Head of School and Board of Trustees

Essential Job Responsibilities
I. Visionary Leadership
- Assist in the creation, communication, and implementation of a long-term strategic vision for the school and their assigned campus that aligns with the school’s vision, mission, values, and educational philosophy.
- Set clear, measurable goals for the school’s growth in enrollment, academic achievement, and spiritual impact, actively guiding the school toward these objectives.
- Responsible for establishing and shaping the campus culture by cultivating and maintaining positive relationships. Actively fosters an environment where staff and students feel valued, supported, and engaged. This role promotes a culture of positivity, collaboration, and respect to ensure a welcoming atmosphere that supports the entire school community.
- Serves as the primary communicator of the school's vision and expectations, acting as the key representative of their campus to ensure alignment with organizational goals while fostering clear communication with staff, students, families, and the community.
- Explore and implement innovative educational practices that reflect the changing needs of students
II. Governance
- Keep the Head of School informed on the issues, needs, and operation of the school.
- Serve as a liaison between the Head of School and faculty, promoting respect, understanding, and support among staff, families, the Board of Trustees, the parent organization Living Waters World Outreach Center, and the public, while upholding school leadership and supporting their policies and decisions in communications with stakeholders.
- Collaborate with staff and families, incorporating their input to improve the school community and ensure programs align with stakeholder needs.
- Ensures collaboration and cohesion in culture and programming between the two school campuses, coordinating connections between leadership, staff and students.
- Ensure the school adheres to local, state, and federal regulations, as well as accreditation standards while maintaining the school's Christian values.
III. Personnel
- Responsible for hiring qualified staff and ensuring they maintain proper certification and licensure, in accordance with school and state requirements, to uphold the highest standards of education and professional competence
- Lead, encourage, and plan opportunities for personnel that support continual growth, both professionally and spiritually.
- Ensure effective practices and professional growth among staff by performing evaluations and providing constructive feedback
- Make objective recommendations, with adequate supporting data, to the Head of School regarding cases of assignment, transfer, promotion, demotion, nonrenewal of contract, or dismissal.
- Ensure that all personnel files are current, treated with appropriate confidentiality, and adequately safeguarded.
- Assist in the development and training of a pool of competent substitute teachers and volunteers to ensure the continuity of the school program.
IV. Academic Leadership
- Serves as an educational leader, continually growing in the field of education as a professional educator
- Keep abreast of major current trends in education in general and Christian education in particular through reading, graduate studies, conferences, and contacts with other principals and educators.
- Ensure that classrooms reflect a professional and Christian environment.

- Assist in the administration of policy for classification, promotion, or retention of students in the school program.

V. Administrative Leadership
- Implement and accomplish the goals and objectives assigned by the Head of School.
- Ensure compliance with school policies and procedures within the school community.
- Responsible for developing and implementing crisis management plans, ensuring the safety and well-being of students and staff, and conducting regular safety drills.
- Meet regularly with teachers and staff to ensure coordination of programs and prompt problem resolution.
- Assist in the planning of the schedules, supervision of staff, improvement of instruction, and selection of curriculum.
- Help with the revision of the parent/student handbooks, employee handbooks, substitute teacher handbooks, and other such items.
- Manage the usage of property, ensuring the effective and efficient utilization of shared spaces in collaboration with the ministry partner church(s), Living Waters, or New Life. The principal will communicate needs and seek approval for dual-use facilities beyond the agreed-upon set schedule.
VI. Business and Finances
- Assist in the management of the school’s budgetary expenditures and procedures.
- Assists in creating an annual budget and makes financial decisions for their campus that support the annual budget and are within budgetary guidelines
- Oversees and ensures the coordination and maintenance of the campus, curricular inventory, records of textbooks, furniture, equipment, and other items for all classrooms, and ensures all school resources are managed effectively.
- Serve as a check co-signer for the school bank account.
VII. Other
- Assume all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Head of School.
