QUALIFICATIONS/ABILITIES:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent relevant work experience.
· Licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
· Thorough understanding of GAAP principles required.
· 5 years of accounting experience in a professional business environment; public accounting experience a plus.
· Strong Excel skills; experience with accounting systems and data extracts.
· Proven effective project management skills and ability to manage time through multi-tasking.
· Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills; high levels of personal accountability.
· Excellent written and verbal communication; positive attitude and strong work ethic.
RESPONSIBILITIES – HOW THIS POSITION SUPPORTS THE VISION include the following, but are not limited to:
· Lead key close activities and complex reconciliations; ensure accuracy of financial records.
· Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules.
· Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting and audit requests.
· Maintain and improve documentation of accounting processes, controls, and policies.
· Partner with operational teams to ensure proper transaction recording and timely issue resolution.
· Mentor and train junior accounting associates; build bench strength and cross-training.
· Identify opportunities to streamline close tasks and automate recurring work.
INDICATORS OF PERFORMANCE
· Close tasks completed on time with high accuracy.
· Reduced post-close adjustments and reconciliation aging.
· Positive audit readiness and clean support for PBC requests.
· Improved team capability and documented processes
