Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner – Inpatient Behavioral Health
Fairview Range is hiring a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our inpatient Behavioral Health team in Hibbing, MN.
As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric care to adult patients in an established, 34-bed inpatient Behavioral Health program. This position offers the opportunity to practice independently while collaborating with two board-certified psychiatrists and an experienced multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering compassionate, high-quality patient care.

Schedule: Full-time, 1.0 FTE position with a 7-on/7-off schedule, including seven night-call shifts per month. Additional compensation is available for extra shifts.

As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, you will be responsible for:
Providing comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of adult patients in an inpatient setting.
Managing acute and chronic psychiatric conditions through evidence-based treatment planning, medication management, and crisis intervention.
Exercising independent clinical judgment while collaborating with psychiatrists and an interdisciplinary care team.
Participating in daily patient rounds, treatment planning, and care coordination to promote stabilization and recovery.
Coordinating with nursing, social work, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate safe discharge planning and continuity of care.
Providing patient and family education regarding psychiatric conditions, treatment options, and ongoing care needs.
Supporting clinical quality, patient safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in advanced practice nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
Current Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) certification.
Current Minnesota Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license or ability to obtain licensure.
Eligibility for DEA registration and medical staff credentialing and privileging.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain certification.
Preferred Qualifications
One or more years of clinical experience in psychiatric or behavioral health care; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
Experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting, including management of acute psychiatric conditions.
Doctorate degree in advanced practice nursing.
