Long Term Substitute 2026-2027
(Semester 1)
LOCATION: Fairview Middle School
POSITION TITLE: Professional Teacher – Math
REPORTS TO: Fairview Middle School Principal
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher
- Pennsylvania Certification:
Grades 4-6 all subjects, 7 and 8 math or 7-12 secondary math
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be knowledgeable of subject matter and current instructional strategies and approaches to subject and grade level
- Demonstrate a variety of teaching methods and techniques which motivate students to perform at their optimum ability while maintaining appropriate use of classroom management techniques
- Utilize strategies that differentiate instruction to address the ability level of all students
- Demonstrate basic understanding of instructional techniques appropriate for students with cognitive and behavioral needs
- Utilize strategies and activities which encourage the development of critical and analytical thought processes by students
- Teach subject matter as prescribed in the Board-approved curriculum
- Demonstrate the willingness and ability to use writing in all areas of curriculum and work cooperatively with colleagues in other disciplines
- Demonstrate a knowledge of state standards in Mathematics
- Cooperate with staff and administration to promote and maintain a sound learning environment
- Be a professional role model for students and staff
- Participate in professional organizations, professional growth activities such as seminars, courses, workshops and staff development activities
- Communicate with parents and appropriate professional staff to discuss student needs and progress
- Adhere to all policies and procedures as delineated in the district’s Board manual, staff handbook and administrative requests
SALARY: Per F.E.A. contract
EVALUATION: Annually in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation and the F.E.A.contract.
