FAIRVIEW SCHOOL DISTRICT - POSITION DESCRIPTION
LOCATION: Fairview Middle School
TITLE: Middle School Attendance Secretary
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
JOB GOAL: Help maintain a friendly school office environment in which the candidate supports and helps to problem-solve for all visitors, phone inquiries/requests, and e-mail correspondence, while maintaining a positive attitude in completing all assigned duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possess an Associate Degree or higher (Bachelors Desired).
- Accurate Typist (60 wpm or more).
- High degree of proficiency with computer programs (such as MS Office, Excel, ).
- Ability to use a variety of office
- Proficiency in language and composition
- Possess an enthusiastic personality and friendly interpersonal
- Possess the ability to multi-task within a busy office while maintaining a positive attitude and pleasant
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain and monitor accurate attendance records for every student in the
- Assume primary telephone responsibilities for the
- Primarily responsible for assisting students and parents who enter the office and via phone or e-
- Maintain confidential student files (A & B files), as well as computer
- Responsible for assisting with the registration of new students and releasing student records for those who
- Register all visitors with the Raptor Computer
- Maintain Student
- Responsible for iPad deployment, troubleshooting, basic maintenance,
- Help with process for recruitment and enrollment of new students and set up shadow days for interested
- Assist the administration during emergency
- Assist with collection of order forms and parent
- Perform general office work, such as word processing, filing,
- Communicate via 2-way radio with bus drivers, administrators, and school safety
- Work closely with the Transportation Department regarding bus
- Required to attend several evening events per school year (Open Houses, Parent Nights, ).
- Assist with the daily substitute teacher
- Assist with morning and afternoon

- Manage all correspondence to parents and District Judge regarding attendance
- Track late arrivals of students and issue and schedule detentions for excessive

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10-month position (210 days per year) - Class “B”
HOURS: 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (8-hours per day)
SALARY: $19.59/hr.
EVALUATION: Annually, in accordance with provisions of Board policy.
