Role: A Stepdown Registered Nurse provides specialized care for patients transitioning from intensive care to medical-surgical units, requiring continuous monitoring and complex interventions.
Responsibilities include: monitoring cardiac rhythms and vital signs, administering medications, assisting with cardiac procedures, observing patient responses, responding to emergencies, documenting assessments, educating patients on cardiac health, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, patient-centered care.
Qualifications: One year of recent stepdown experience, valid RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications. Preferred certifications include PCCN and NIHSS.
Skills required: Critical thinking, effective communication, physical stamina, technical proficiency, ability to work under pressure, and sensory acuity.
