Role Overview: The Registered Nurse PACU is responsible for providing immediate post-operative care to surgical patients, ensuring their stability and safety during recovery.
Key Responsibilities: Manage airway support, monitor neurological and cardiac status, respond to complications, provide wound care, and collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams. Deliver patient-centered, evidence-based care, assess and document patient conditions, and educate patients and families about medical treatments and follow-up.
Qualifications & Skills: RN license, prior PACU or ICU experience, and certifications including Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). On-call availability is required, with occasional holiday and weekend rotations.
Work Environment & Support: Supportive leadership promotes collaboration and empowerment. Staffing support includes Certified Nurse Assistants, Patient Care Techs, and a float pool. Self-preferential scheduling is available.
