Key Responsibilities
- Respond to social needs across emergency and inpatient services.
- Conduct biopsychosocial and trauma assessments.
- Deliver trauma-informed, strengths-based interventions and develop safety plans.
- Screen for social determinants of health and provide crisis intervention.
- Offer case management, referrals, counseling, and emotional support.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and community providers.
- Utilize therapeutic techniques such as motivational interviewing and trauma-focused CBT.
- Address issues including child protective needs, violence, substance abuse, mental health, and homelessness.
- Establish and maintain effective therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
- Master’s degree in social work.
- LICSW licensure in the state of MA required.
- Experience in medical social work preferred, with strong clinical skills.
- Cultural sensitivity and competence, bilingual/bicultural skills are a plus.
- Comfort in fast-paced environments with a sense of humor valued.
