X-Ray/Mammography Technologist

Role Overview: Performs mammography procedures under supervision, ensuring safe practices and radiation safety measures. Responsible for patient education, promoting comfort, and producing high-quality images for diagnosis. Assists radiologists with complex examinations like biopsies and maintains quality control standards. Demonstrates knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology, with a focus on accurate positioning and exposure techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and screening mammograms as ordered
• Assist radiologists with intricate procedures, including biopsies
• Ensure image quality and conduct quality control functions
• Educate patients and promote their comfort during exams
• Maintain awareness of equipment and report issues to site management
  
  

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of mammography experience and QA under MQSA standards
• ARRT registered and graduate of Radiologic Technology Program
• Preferred TOMO experience
• Effective communication, teamwork, professionalism, and flexibility
• Knowledge of equipment, medical terminology, and anatomy
  
  

Physical & Safety Requirements: Ability to stand, lift up to 50 pounds, reposition patients, and work in magnetic and RF environments without physical limitations that could be affected by magnetic fields or noise.
