- working up and rooming patients
- assisting physicians during office visits and procedures
- cleaning, stocking exam rooms
- triaging patient calls and routing them appropriately
- processing lab, radiology, and referral requests
- Medical Assistant certification from AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT
- graduation from an accredited post-secondary medical assisting program including courses in anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, pharmacology, and clinical techniques
- graduation from a surgical technician program (certification preferred, especially for post-2008 graduates)
- computer proficiency, experience with electronic health records (Epic preferred),
- minimum two years of clinical experience preferred. Medical office experience is a plus.
