Fairview is currently hiring a Professional Practice Nurse Lead to help drive nursing practice in our Perianesthesia areas across the Fairview system.
Job Summary:
The System Professional Practice Nurse Lead (PPNL) demonstrates expert knowledge and skill in a nursing practice specialty, service line, and across the continuum of care for the system. The PPNL leads work, processes, and people to design, develop, implement, and evaluate innovative evidence-based interventions and best practices to optimize patient safety, healthcare quality, cost-effectiveness, and improved patient and staff experience. The PPNL generates and evaluates practices through partnership with nurses and other members of the inter-professional team and demonstrates professional leadership in work at the micro-, meso- and macrosystem levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate and improve clinical practice using evidence-based strategies
Lead development of standards, policies, and performance metrics
Consult across teams to support nursing scope and education
Promote system-level improvements and regulatory readiness
Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize workflows and care delivery
Mentor and coach nurses to support professional growth
Engage in research, quality improvement, and ethical decision-making
Demonstrate inclusive, patient-centered care across all populations
Comply with organizational policies and foster a culture of innovation
Minimum Qualifications to Fulfill Job Responsibilities:
Required
Education
- Masters Degree in Nursing
Experience
- 3 or more years of nursing experience
License/Certification/Registration
- Current MN RN License
- BLS certification
Required Emergency Response Education by Clinical Grouping:
- ED: PALS, ACLS
- Critical Care/cardiac telemetry: ACLS
- Post-operative (Phase 1 only): ACLS, PALS/PEARS (if site does pediatric surgery, site dependent)
- Maternity/NICU: NRP
- Pediatrics: PALS/PEARS
- Behavioral/mental health: BERT
Preferred
Education
- Doctor of Nursing Practice or Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Science
Experience
- 6 or more years Nursing experience
License/Certification/Registration
- Recognized ANCC certification in Nursing Specialty aligned to your area of practice

The posted pay range is for a 40-hour workweek (1.0 FTE). The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions.
