Fairview is currently hiring an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse to help drive nursing practice in our Perianesthesia care areas across the Fairview system
Job Summary:
The Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) demonstrates expert knowledge and skill in a specialty patient population, nursing practice specialty, service line, and across the continuum of care for the system. The APNL leads work, processes, and people to design, develop, implement, and evaluate innovative, evidence-based interventions and best practices to optimize patient safety, healthcare quality, cost-effectiveness, and improved patient and staff experience. The APNL generates and evaluates evidence for practice through partnership with nurses and other members of the inter-professional team and demonstrates professional leadership in work at the patient, micro-, meso-, and macrosystem levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Practice & Evaluation: Designs, implements, and evaluates care based on evidence and standards. Uses data to guide practice improvements and optimize outcomes.
- Consultation: Provides expert input on complex cases, care delivery, and patient education. Advises on scope of practice and regulatory standards.
- System Leadership: Leads initiatives to improve quality metrics, regulatory compliance, and nursing practice across the organization.
- Collaboration: Builds interdisciplinary teams, supports governance councils, and facilitates change in clinical practice.
- Coaching & Development: Mentors staff, supports ongoing education, and models professional practice.
- Research & Evidence-Based Practice: Leads or participates in research and quality improvement projects to advance care.
- Ethical Practice: Applies ethical principles in decision-making and practice
Minimum Qualifications to Fulfill Job Responsibilities:
Required
Education
- Masters degree in Nursing
Experience
- 3 or more years of nursing experience
License/Certification/Registration
- Current MN RN License
- Licensed in Minnesota as an Advanced Practice RN (CNS, NP, CRNA, CNM)
- BLS certification
Required Emergency Response Education by Clinical Grouping:
- ED: PALS, ACLS
- Critical Care/cardiac telemetry: ACLS
- Post-operative (Phase 1 only): ACLS, PALS/PEARS (if site does pediatric surgery, site dependent)
- Maternity/NICU: NRP
- Pediatrics: PALS/PEARS
- Behavioral/mental health: BERT
Preferred
Education
- Doctor of Nursing Practice or Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Science
Experience
- 6 or more years Nursing experience
- 1 year or more APRN experience
License/Certification/Registration
- Recognized ANCC certification in Nursing Specialty aligned to your area of practice

The posted pay range is for a 40-hour workweek (1.0 FTE). The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization values pay equity and considers the internal equity of our team when making any offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical.
