Fairview is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Physician - Psychiatry - Adult Inpatient to join our Behavioral Health team in a CASUAL inpatient role based in Minneapolis at University of Minnesota Medical Center - West Bank. The physician will provide care in an inpatient hospital setting with a focus on adult psychiatric care and medication management. Provides care and collaborates on treatment plans and decisions for care with a multidisciplinary team of care givers and support staff. Ensures clinical excellence by ensuring quality, focusing on the patient experience, operational and clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for adult patients admitted to the inpatient psychiatric unit.
- Develop and manage individualized treatment plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team including nursing, social work, psychology, and case management.
- Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications, evaluating therapeutic response and side effects.
- Conduct daily patient rounds and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Participate in treatment team meetings and discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide crisis intervention and risk assessments when needed.
- When applicable, provide education and training to learners, including students, residents, and fellows.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an ACGME or AOA accredited Psychiatry residency program
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
- Eligible for or able to obtain Minnesota medical license
- Ability to obtain DEA certification in Minnesota
- Meet credentialing and privileging criteria
- Preferred - Fellowship training in areas such as Addiction Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry, Pain Medicine, or Hospice & Palliative Medicine
