Patient Attendant

Job Summary: As a Patient Attendant, your primary role is to provide direct and continuous observation to assigned patients who require monitoring for safety reasons. This includes identifying and addressing potential threats to patient safety and promptly communicating observations to the patient's nurse or the charge nurse. Additionally, you'll maintain accurate documentation of observations and perform non-clinical tasks such as stocking rooms and responding to call lights.

Job Expectations:

• Ensure patient safety through close and continuous observation, remaining vigilant for any potential hazards.
• Identify and respond to real and potential threats to the patient's safety, taking appropriate action to prevent harm.
• Report observations promptly and directly to the patient's assigned nurse or the unit's charge nurse.
• Document observations accurately and comprehensively in the designated manner.
• Fulfill other assigned duties that do not require clinical competency, such as stocking rooms and responding to call lights, as needed.

This role is critical in ensuring patient safety and supporting the healthcare team in non-clinical capacities.

To ensure timely response to staffing needs and patient care requirements, candidates for the Casual Patient Attendant position must be able to arrive at Fairview Northland Medical Center in Princeton, MN, within 30 minutes of being called in for a shift.
