What are the responsibilities and job description for the MRI Technologist position at Fairview Health Services?
Here at Fairview, we are now seeking an MRI Technologist to join our imaging team at our University of Minnesota Medical Center - East Bank location in Minneapolis, MN! This is a 1.0 FTE (80 hours per 2 weeks) position that will work Monday through Friday during the day shift (typically 7AM - 3:30PM) with weekends as needed.
The MRI Technologist position provides services to patients and physicians by creating patient specific diagnostic images. Responsible for meeting the established standards of practice and patient care supplies and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Performs examinations
- Identifies relevant data from images accurately
- Communicates pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional.
- Ensures patient safety and emergency preparedness
- Ensures proper film identification on all images
- Accurately completes computer functions-edits, status changes, logging
- Accurate film marking and jacket preparation
Required Qualifications
- ARRT Certification
- Meet MRI Safety Screen requirements
- Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional education in Imaging or Healthcare
- 1 year of experience
- MRI Certification within 1-1/2 Yrs
- 1 or more year of experience in cardiac MRI
