Position Summary: Scheduler
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Scheduler to coordinate staffing for our nursing and caregiving teams. The ideal candidate will have experience in healthcare scheduling, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
This role is essential in ensuring that resident care is never compromised by staffing gaps and that our team members are supported with balanced and accurate schedules.
Scheduling Coordinator Key Responsibilities:
Create and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly staff schedules for nursing and direct care teams.
Ensure appropriate coverage for all shifts in accordance with facility needs and NY state staffing regulations.
Communicate shift assignments, changes, and open shifts to staff in a timely manner.
Coordinate coverage for call-outs, PTO, and emergencies.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date scheduling records using facility software.
Collaborate with department heads and HR to ensure staffing compliance.
Assist in tracking attendance, overtime, and schedule-related performance concerns.
Assist with agency inservices, including coordination, attendance tracking, and communication with agency partners.
Perform all other duties as assigned by department heads or supervisory personnel
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree preferred.
Prior experience in healthcare scheduling or staff coordination (LTC or Skilled Nursing Facility experience preferred).
Proficiency in scheduling systems such as SBV and Viventium, or similar platforms.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
Ability to problem-solve and remain calm under pressure.
