The Maintenance Engineer is a critical team player who understands that he/she are the protectors of the asset, working actively to minimize any exposure to the property. Success in the position requires excellent communication with both hotel guests and our internal team members throughout the hotel. The applicant must have proficiency in two or more of the following areas: HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry and Painting. This position requires an individual that works daily to ensure safe practices of themselves and other team members, following all Fairmont safety guidelines.
Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES
Team player mindset- Understands our role is working together maintaining and protecting hotel assets
- Troubleshooting and general maintenance repairs in our guestrooms, public space areas and internal departments.
- Contributes to the hotel preventative maintenance tasks
- Follows maintenance requirements and guidelines set forth by Fairmont operating procedures
- Advocates for the safety for themselves, guest and employees
- Good communication with our hotel guests and employees
- Contribute to the cleanliness and organization of the department
- Ensuring uniform and grooming standards follow employee handbook guidelines.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficiency in two or more areas in the following: HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry, or Painting.
- Basic level computer skills.
- Good communication skills
- Prefer prior experience in hotel environment
- Availability for days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays.
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
- Extended periods of standing and walking throughout shifts
- Use of ladders, lifts, scaffolding
- Light to heavy lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of objects.
- 90% indoor work 10% outdoor

Visa Requirements: Must have proof of valid U.S. work authorization.
