What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Assistant Professor/ Director, Clinical Laboratory position at Fairleigh Dickinson University?
The responsibilities of this non-tenure track 12-month Clinical Assistant faculty position include teaching, mentorship, and service.
This faculty member will provide engaged instruction per workload; develop curricula using repository of CoNAH and FDU resources; assess student learning; advise and support students.

- Required: An earned master’s degree.
- Required: unencumbered current New Jersey registered nurse or allied health professions license.
- Clinical/didactic teaching experience.
Applicants are also expected to be proficient in the use of computer systems for spreadsheets, internet, videoconferencing, and e-mail, well organized, independent, and collaborative in fulfilling responsibilities, ability to manage sensitive issues with decorum and confidentiality.
Responsibilities/Qualifications: Director, Clinical Laboratory
This faculty member will also be the Director of Clinical Laboratory data which focuses on overseeing laboratory instruction, student activities, supervise laboratory staff, compliance with academic and safety standards, equipment oversight, and support for educational and research initiatives withing the college’s clinical laboratory programs.
In addition to satisfying the qualifications for the faculty position, the minimum and preferred requirements for the Director of Clinical Laboratory
1. Clinical laboratory/simulation experience
2. 3-5 years progressive management experience.
3. Oversee laboratory budgeting, inventory management, equipment and supplies maintenance, and vendor relationships.
4. Oversee daily operations of the clinical laboratory to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant testing services.
5. Well organized, initiative-taking, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with faculty, staff, and students in carrying out responsibilities.
Employment is contingent upon satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will have to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security card.
Appointment to a Director position is conditional after employment as a faculty member. Applicants who are applying for this faculty position will be evaluated for Director competencies and be appointed to this position on an annual basis, according to program needs.
