Job Summary
The Hotel Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections to ensure the hotel’s facilities, guest rooms, and equipment are safe, functional, and well-maintained. This role supports guest satisfaction by promptly addressing maintenance issues and maintaining hotel standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities
- Repair and maintain plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and mechanical systems
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel staff
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform repairs or report major issues to management
- Maintain hotel safety standards and comply with health, safety, and fire regulations
- Assist with room turnarounds, renovations, and special projects as needed
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records
- Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors when necessary
- Ensure proper use, care, and storage of tools and materials
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)
- Previous maintenance experience, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building maintenance
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and kneel for extended periods
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
Work Schedule
- Flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as required
- On-call availability may be required
Preferred Certifications (Optional)
- HVAC certification
- Electrical or plumbing certification
- OSHA or safety training
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
