Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team, responsible for ensuring the proper operation and upkeep of facilities and equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in facilities maintenance, electrical systems, mechanical repairs, and plumbing. This role requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance across various systems, including manufacturing environments and residential settings. Candidates with supervisory experience and leadership skills are encouraged to apply to support team coordination and training efforts.
Duties
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on machinery, electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, and building infrastructure.
- Repair and preventative maintenance on resident equipment, i.e. beds, wheelchairs, etc.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
- Painting of walls and repair of sheetrock surfaces.
- Ensure facilities meet safety standards through regular inspections and adherence to safety protocols.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal client needs promptly and professionally.
Experience
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance within long term care or residental environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in plumbing, electrical systems, and sheetrock repair
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience is preferred to support team coordination.
- Knowledge of residential painting techniques is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills in English to effectively document work orders and collaborate with team members.
- Knowledge of and/or the ability to learn lifesafety code requirements for LTC facilities.
- Documentation of work done, and scheduling of PM, active and future maintenance projects.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy equipment, working at heights, or in confined spaces as needed. This Maintenance Worker role offers an opportunity to contribute to the reliability and safety of our facilities through technical expertise and leadership capabilities.
