Job Purpose:

Clean and prepare guest rooms and public areas by meeting established standard operating procedures, company standards and brand standards of cleanliness and propriety to assure guest satisfaction.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare and stock housekeeping cart with supplies for a full day of guest room or public area cleaning.
• Maintain housekeeping linen and storerooms in a clean and orderly fashion to enhance ability to clean guest rooms effectively and efficiently.
• Clean and wipe windows, doors, walls, closets and fixtures in rooms, public areas and hallways in order to maintain a clean, orderly and presentable hotel facility at all times.
• Wash shower walls and tubs, clean toilets and stall walls if applicable, wipe exposed pipes, clean mirrors, sinks and walls in order to have clean and sanitary guest and public bathrooms/restrooms.
• Replace towels, soaps and all room amenities and restock literature that has been removed or soiled to ensure adequate supply for arriving or stay-over guests. This is to be done per company and brand standards.
• Dust and polish all furniture, fixtures and wall hangings including using a duster to reach vents and ceiling corners on a regular basis.
• Strip beds of all linen and remake bed with fresh linen, check bedspread/duvet, blankets and bed pads for cleanliness and stains, replace is soiled. Lift mattresses to check for soiling and mold between mattress and box spring and under bed.
• Check closets for cleanliness, wiping closet door, handle and overhead shelving and restock as necessary extra hangers, blankets and pillows.
• Vacuum rooms, public areas and hallways, operating vacuums weighing up to 25lbs., lifting and moving heavy furniture in order to vacuum entire carpeted area including underneath furniture.
• Inspect all door and window locks to ensure they are in working order and immediate inform the Executive Housekeeper to an unsecured or unsafe situation for the safety of guests and employees.
• Inspect all room equipment (television, lights and lamps, faucets, radios, etc.) to ensure they are in proper working order and immediately report all room maintenance or public area deficiencies to the Executive Housekeeper for resolution.
• Maintain a courteous, cheerful and friendly manner at all times.
• Communicate with the Executive Housekeeper on a regular basis.
• Other duties as assigned.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned. Participate in hotel task forces and committees as requested.
• Assist Laundry Department as needed or requested.
• Clean patio areas by sweeping or hosing the floor surface and wiping down all furniture and fixtures and cleaning the doors and windows to the patio.

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• Must have basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, use of cleaning products and operation of standard cleaning equipment.
• Ability to lift and move 50 lbs. without restriction.
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and employees.

Pay: From $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
