Front Desk Clerk/Night Auditor

Fairfield Inn & Suites Empire Mall is a small, independently owned, family-owned hotel and restaurant in Sioux Falls, SD. We are looking for a Front Desk Clerk Night Auditor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be able to multitask and perform a variety of tasks with ease. The person we are looking for is someone who is organized, flexible, and has the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively. We are looking for someone who can help us maintain our reputation of being a great place to work by ensuring that our front desk staff and other staff members are well taken care of.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check guests in at the front desk
• Answer phones in a professional manner and relay messages to the front desk
• Check out guests at the front desk when they are ready to leave
• Maintain a clean, orderly and welcoming environment at all times
• Respond to guest questions, complaints and requests in a professional manner
• Process cash and credit card payments using an electronic payment system (POS)
• Handle lost and found items and provide them to staff so they can put them back on the shelves
• Provide information about services and programs at the front desk when asked by guests or staff members
• Make sure all guest requests are processed in a timely manner and that all staff requests are addressed in a timely manner
• Maintain the cleanliness of the front desk area (counters, phones, etc) according to health department standards
• Perform other duties as assigned by management or leadership

Qualifications Experience with hotel front desk duties (hint: we do not do email) Experience with using an electronic payment system (note: we do not do email) Excellent communication skills (including phone etiquette) Ability to work independently or collaboratively with others
