We are seeking a detail oriented and highly organized Medical Administrator/Receptionist to join our healthcare team at our Ophthalmology office! In this vital role, you will oversee the daily faxes, emails, referrals, administrative paper work, and prior authorization of our medical practice, ensuring seamless administrative and clinical workflows. You will coordinate with medical staff, manage records, and implement best practices in healthcare management to support our mission of delivering exceptional patient services. Responsibilities
- Manage medical office communications with insurances and patients, including scheduling, referrals, prior authorization, and administrative workflows to optimize efficiency.
- Medical administrative support staff, checking emails and mail and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Oversee medical records management, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems such as modmed and Epic to maintain patient data securely.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain strict confidentiality of medical records and patient information.
- Support practice management initiatives such as utilization management and clinic quality improvement projects.
- Obtaining prior authorizations for medication
- Surgical schedule coordination
- Checking vision, putting eye drops, doing diagnostic imaging.
- Being flexible with cross training
Experience
- Proven experience in medical office management or healthcare administration with a strong background in office management within clinical settings.
- Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, HIPAA compliance, and healthcare regulations such as JCAHO standards.
