What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prep Cook Summer 2026 position at Fair Hills Resort?
Fair Hills Resort is seeking a reliable and hardworking Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. Our kitchen serves anywhere from 2 to 250 guests per day and supports three departments: Bakery, Salad, and Prep. The Prep Cook plays an essential role in ensuring meals are prepared efficiently, safely, and to high quality standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients for daily meals, including chopping, portioning, mixing, and measuring
- Assist with cooking, baking, grilling, and general meal preparation
- Set up, restock, and help run the buffet
- Serve food on the steam line during meal service
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation
- Follow safe food-handling and kitchen safety procedures
- Work both independently and as part of a fast-paced team
- Lift and transport heavy containers, equipment, or food items as needed
- Contribute to a positive, professional, and respectful kitchen environment
Qualifications:
- Previous kitchen or prep experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing needs
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
Prep Cooks typically work a morning shift, with the option to pick up an additional short evening shift.
Fair Hills Resort is a family vacation destination and special events venue.
