We're seeking a motivated and experienced QC Inspector to join our team in our air-conditioned and heated shop! If you have a strong eye for detail and a passion for ensuring quality in aerospace components, we want to hear from you.
As a key member of our Quality Department, you will be responsible for a wide range of inspection activities, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards and customer expectations.
Your Responsibilities:
- Inspect incoming materials against specifications, performing visual and measurement tests, and managing non-conforming materials.
- Accurately document inspection results, including reports, logs, and database entries.
- Manage the rework process, ensuring timely return and verification of corrected products.
- Issue, review, and contribute to the validation of corrective actions for non-conformances.
- Review quality procedures and engineering requirements, recommending process improvements.
- Train and mentor colleagues on quality best practices.
- Conduct First Article Inspections (basic and AS9102) and prepare related documentation.
- Provide technical support and timely resolution of quality issues.
- Oversee production equipment maintenance and inspection.
- Verify tracking spreadsheets for approved vendors and calibrated tools.
- Participate in internal and external Quality Management System audits.
- Collaborate effectively with the Quality, Production, and Engineering teams.
- Interpret engineering documents, drawings, GD&T, and quality standards.
What You Need to Succeed:
- Proven experience inspecting machined, formed, welded, and assembled components using various measuring instruments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in Excel, Windows, and ideally CAD software.
- Solid mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and related technical documents.
- Experience with or participation in quality audits.
- Machinist experience is a plus.
- Ability to pass customer background checks for offsite work.
- A team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills.
- Strong desire to learn.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in an ISO9001/AS9110 certified environment.
- Ability to review CAD models (Catia, SolidWorks, Mastercam, etc.).
- Experience with CMM or laser tracker machines.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen due to ITAR requirements.
- 3 years of preferred experience in Quality Control.
