Accounting Supervisor

About the Role 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Supervisor to oversee daily accounting operations, ensure the accuracy of financial records, and lead a team of accounting staff. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics. 

Factory Connection LLC is a family-owned retail company founded in 1976 in Guntersville, Alabama. With 230 stores across 16 states and over one million square feet of retail space, we are a regional leader in offering name brand fashions at 25% to 70% below regular retail prices. We are looking for a driven accounting professional to join our Accounting Department at our Guntersville headquarters. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Supervise and mentor a team of Accounts Payable Staff and Accounting Clerks
• Submit and approve journal entries, ensuring proper application of debits and credits in accordance with GAAP
• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and accruals 
• Maintain and optimize workflows within Microsoft Dynamics ERP system 
• Prepare financial reports, variance analyses, and supporting schedules for management review 
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements 
• Collaborate with external auditors and assist with audit preparation 
• Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations 

Required Qualifications 

Education 

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 

Technical Skills 

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, complex formulas, Power Query, and data analysis); Experience in Power BI including building tables and reports 

ERP Experience 

Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics (Navision, 365 Business Central, or similar) 

Core Knowledge 

• Strong understanding of debits and credits, general ledger accounting, and GAAP principles 
• Attention to Detail 
• Demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy in high-volume, deadline-driven environments 

Experience 

3–5 years of progressive accounting experience
